Moments before this fence post came flying towards the driver's head, the Washington State teenager was texting while driving.
According to Katu.com, Washington State Patrol Trooper Russ Winger said the teen was driving on Saturday when other drivers reported seeing him texting and talking on the phone while driving erratically. The 18-year-old driver later made a U-turn and then lost control of his car and ran into the fence. A piece of the fence smashed through pickup truck's windshield and "nearly took his head off," Winger said of the driver. Fortunately, the teenager only suffered minor injuries from the crash.
This driver was lucky. Imagine if he hit another car full of people because of his texting while driving. What would have happened if his head was 2 inches closer to where the fence post impaled the windshield.Put down the texting device while driving. It could save your life, and it could prevent you from injuring (and even killing) others.
