According to TBO.com, a woman was the passenger in a 1998 Mazda heading east on 142nd Avenue, The driver made a left turn at 66th Street in front of a 2003 Ford F250 pickup truck that was heading west on 142nd Avenue. The pickup truck struck the passenger side of the Mazda, police said, and the passenger died at the scene from her injuries. The driver of the Mazda was transported by emergency helicopter to a local hospital in serious condition, police said.
Throughout the years, I have met many very nice people who live in the retirement mobile home parks on 142nd Avenue. I do not know if this woman and driver of the Mazda lived in one of them. If so, not only is the family grieving, but the mobile home community is as well. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families involved in the crash. Although it appears that the driver of the pick-up truck did nothing wrong to cause this crash, he too will be suffering physically and mentally because of this crash.
Remember to say good-bye and "I love you" to your loved one whenever they get in a car. You never know when you may not see them again.
