I am honored to be again included in the lawyers listed in Florida Trend's Legal Elite this year. Just 1,165 lawyers throughout the entire State of Florida are selected which represents fewer than 2% of the active Florida Bar members who practice in Florida.
Florida Trend asserts that the lawyers listed as "Legal Elite" exemplify a standard of excellence in their profession and by so doing, have garnered the respect and esteem of their colleagues. To be selected as part of the Legal Elite, other lawyers must name you as an attorney whom they hold in the highest regard or would recommend to others. The list of top vote-getters was further examined using membership status and histories provided by the Florida Bar.
I have always thought that being a lawyer doesn't mean you have to act like a stereotypical lawyer. You can still properly represent your clients by being kind to them while at the same time showing respect to the opposing attorney and our legal system. Being tricky or conniving may work in one situation, but your reputation (and your clients) will suffer far past that one situation.
There are too many news articles about lawyers doing things that help them in the short-run while damaging their reputation and faith in our legal system. I pray that you only see my name in the papers for doing a job well done and doing my part to maintain the integrity of the finest judicial system in the world.
Thank you for all the attorneys that voted for me and all the clients that allow me to do what I do! I am honored and truly blessed.
